There are only a handful of performers who are recognisable from one name alone. And since doing a sexy photo shoot of Sting didn’t seem like a great idea, we’d like to reintroduce you to someone known simply as Christina. And if we say so ourselves, she looks sexier than ever. The 32-year-old is at the top of her career, starring as a judge /coach on the new season of The Voice; producing her latest perfume, Unforgettable; and even spending time in Rwanda as a UN ambassador for the World Food Program. All that and she even found the time to give us a surefire way to get her in the mood. (Hint: It involves a dairy product.)
This shoot is taken from your third appearance in MAXIM US. It’s safe to assume they missed you.
Thank you. It’s exciting to be back! I think at this point in my life it’s all about celebrating my sexuality. And let’s be honest, I’ve never been one to shy away from my sexuality.
That could be the understatement of the year.
Exactly. My first MAXIM cover came out when I was about 21 and just chomping at the bit, ready to come out of my cage and explore my independence. My second one was a couple of years later, and now, at this point in my life, I’m even more comfortable in my own skin. It was nice to unleash the inner Christina and let her come out and play. As a woman, with age comes the freedom of knowing exactly what you want.
How do you define sexy?
I’m such a down-to-earth girl, I’m comfortable in just a jersey and boy’s underwear. Trying too hard to be sexy is the worst thing you can do. Sexiness should be effortless.
Is sexiness something that can’t be taught?
God, that’s a loaded question! Let me put it this way: On The Voice we start off blind. The coaches can’t see anybody, but there’s always a feeling you get from somebody’s voice. So I think when you have it innately, it’s bound to show up. Society has so many different opinions about what’s sexy, provocative, and trashy versus classy. I’ve definitely run the gamut of exploring and getting so many different opinions out of people.
