We catch up with resort wear king Adam Brown as Brit brand ORLEBAR BROWN unveils its Spring 2025 collection…

For over 15 years, British label Orlebar Brown has been sartorial shorthand for elite resort wear. The brand was created in 2007 by photographer turned designer Adam Brown, who quickly set about elevating poolside fashion for men to new heights. To achieve his vision, Adam created a distinctive visual grammar for his brand that nods to a bygone era of gentlemanly swimwear while remaining thoroughly modern and functional.

Orlebar’s piece de resistance remains their classic Bulldog shorts, or as they’re better known the original ‘shorts you can swim in’. Still, the label has evolved way beyond just swimwear and now takes guys from the cabana to cocktail hour in style. It’s no wonder Orlebar Brown pieces have been a staple in all three seasons of HBO’s White Lotus.

The label, which has been owned by Chanel since 2018, has continued to expand its repertoire with its latest Spring ’25 collection, inspired by an eclectic, unexpected mix of art, music and playful gatherings poolside in 1970s Palm Springs. “Our Spring ’25 collection is a result of the elegant and unexpected when you mix Jermyn Street tailoring influences with the colour and expressiveness of being poolside in Palm Spring in the 1970s,” Adam explains. “The style of Bryan Ferry and the art of David Hockney – a blend of classic British menswear and American eccentricity.”

This Anglo-American fusion sees geometric prints lead the way with Piscina in oranges, blues, and greens. These pieces are complemented with refined floral prints in bright colours that evoke the height of summer. And then an elevated selection of polka dots with a print borrowed from classic menswear. Moreover, the season’s hero colours are an enveloping Agave Green and an elegant Damson colour-balanced with Calypso orange, Eldorado yellow, Caddie green, Khaki and California blue.

Adam and his team have also tapped further into the rapidly expanding men’s footwear and bag markets with new additions to Orlebar Brown’s range of resort ready accessories. Orlebar Brown will launch brown leather sandals called Muro, a rugged navy and black weekender bag as well as a luxe canvas beach tote.

Silk and Italian linen shirts in new prints and rich colours are mixed with new, easy fitting trousers. The Spring ‘25 collection, which is now available via the Orlebar Brown website, is brimming with beach staples perfect for your next tropical getaway or European summer jaunt.
