Self-made businesswoman, philanthropist, fitness professional, winery proprietress and over 50 model, Susan Hoff, is inspiring women to achieve their goals…
Hello, Susan, tell us a bit about yourself.
In short, I’m proud of my career as a Fortune 100 executive C suite officer, a philanthropist, entrepreneur, winery proprietress, an international MBA graduate, a WBFF Fitness Pro, a Mrs. Globe Pageant Queen, a New Orleans Mardi Gras Queen, a fitness and men’s magazine cover model, a Certified Physical Trainer, a life partner, a mum and now a grandmother. There’s not much I haven’t done, nor places I haven’t travelled to. I count my blessings.

What would people be most surprised to know about you?
My age. So many women give up on their health and their femininity. It takes more work as we get older, but it is so worth it!
When do you feel sexy?
When I’m wearing a fabulous pair of shoes, and my hair is just as I want it – which is nearly daily.

Describe yourself in five words.
Driven, passionate, caring, petite and powerful. It should be noted that my friends describe me as extra! Yes, I’m a handful.
How long have you been modelling?
Since I started bikini competitions 15 years ago. Modelling is a fun side hustle for me – it takes me to fun places around the world and I only commit to photo shoots when it fits my business schedule.
What’s one thing men should always know about women?
If you understand cats, you’ve got a head start on women. Not unlike felines, we do what makes us happy, we need to be pampered, are finicky about food and will bite you if you misbehave. We enjoy the hunt, will jump in your lap and flirt or we’ll make you feel awful if we feel you’ve ignored us.

What have you learned about men over the years?
Men can be polite, smart, thoughtful and handsome, but there is a naughty streak in all of them.
What do you look for in a man?
Fit, funny and charming. Chivalry is a must.
What can we get you at the bar?
A Vesper martini.
Got a hangover cure?
Moderation – it works for all good things in life, but if you do over imbibe, vitamin B12 and an electrolyte drink can assist.

What’s your best hidden talent?
I’m good at reading a room and connecting people.
Do you have any phobias?
I’m not particularly fond of spiders and Australia has several big varieties
that cause me to pause.
Who is your girl crush?
Angelina Jolie, for all the obvious reasons – she’s beautifully talented, she’s an icon and she leads by example. Pamela Anderson, also an icon, who evolved with her opportunities and stands up for what she believes.
What’s the weirdest thing someone has sent you via social media?
A distasteful proposition with a single photo that we best not discuss in this article.

What is your motto in life?
The world is run by those who show up… and try. Be present!
What’s next for you? Any exciting projects on the horizon you can share with us?
I’m very goal driven and currently have too many projects in process. I’m looking to cut back on commitments that aren’t fulfilling anymore – they take up too much time or don’t create value. Everything has its time and place. I’m never anywhere for even two weeks. In any week, I have several suitcases packed for back-to-back trips across the world. I’m hoping to spend more time in our island home this year in my bikinis on the beach or in the surf.
Finally, where would you like to be in five years?
Happy, healthy, wealthy & enjoying the life I’ve worked decades to build. If you want to follow my escapades, you can find me on Instagram @OathandGrind. ■
