Nikki Nyers

Miami-based singer, model, and author, Nikki Nyers, shares her journey of resilience and self-discovery in this exclusive interview, reflecting on her recent cancer diagnosis and her aspirations for the future.

Tell us a bit about your shoot – where, when, etc…
My shoot was located in South beach Miami in July this past summer with photographer J Luzan. We tried to aim for a few different beach inspired themes with a neutral tone.

Give us a little more background about yourself and your life story so far.
I’m an entrepreneur. I wear many hats. I’m a singer who has a strong interest in Electro Pop. I perform live at local events in Miami. Usually during Art Basel week. I’m also a published author. I wrote an inspirational memoir titled “Don’t Look Down!” which you can purchase through stores such as Barnes and Noble. I model and walk in shows during NYFW and Miami Swim Week. I”M a business owner, & bartender, I like to stay busy.

What do you love most about yourself?
My most captivating feature is my pride and perseverance. I never take no for an answer. In the circumstance if I’m ever told no I know I’m asking the wrong person. If there is a will there’s a way.

What is the first things you do when you get up in the morning?
I pour myself a cup of coffee. I have to have my coffee.

What is one of your weird quirks?
I have terrible social anxiety. Even though I attend many social events and bartend. I’m truly introverted and value my alone time.

How would you describe yourself in five words?
Perfectionist, goal driven, resilient, loving, compassionate

What’s the first thing you notice when it comes to the opposite gender? Physically and otherwise.
Their tone of voice. Tone of voice can bring you a sense of comfort and peace. Soft spoken people are truly captivating to me and I feel more comfortable. I’m in a safe zone and have the ability to express my true sense of self.

What do you think is the most attractive quality in a man?
A man’s eyes are the window to his soul. I’m able to read their engagement & compassion. Eyes are so expressive, they have the ability to convey compassion, kindness, and warmth.

What impresses you on a first date?
The ability to uphold a conversation. I have to be mentally attracted to you first and foremost.

What advice would you give a man?
Treat a woman how you would treat your mother.

Describe your ideal partner in 1 sentence.
Someone who loves music, loves playing or writing music, enjoys going to shows, financially stable and transparent. Someone who is mentally intriguing and sees beauty from within. They prefer a coffee shop over a bar.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Espresso, I would rather go to a café rather than a bar.

What words do you live by?
An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.

What is something new happening in your life right now?
I’m a cancer survivor! I was diagnosed mid year. I was very lucky. I see more clearly now. I no longer take for granted life’s precious moments or my health.

Lastly, what is one major thing you want to accomplish by the end of this year?
To heal my emotional scars along with my physical and metamorphosize into a new being this upcoming year. 2024 has left its mark on my soul and I’m ready for a new beginning inside and out.
