A visionary concept for luxury travel, the Arya Kani Vision Pullman Express merges the opulence of a Belmond train with the flexibility of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, creating a self-driving, high-tech hotel on wheels…
Luxury travel at the highest level is associated with private jets, first class tickets, and names like the Maybach S Class, Rolls Royce Ghost, and Bentley Continental GT. Once you get a taste of prestine privilege, you don’t want to return to the peasant lifestyle of business class.
Drawing on this, Arya Kani designed the Vision Pullman Express to combine mobility with high class accommodation – effectively creating the most opulent hotel on wheels.
Joining forces for this venture is Mercedes-Benz and the Belmond Group – a no brainer since their businesses are mobility (Mercedes Sprinter van), and travel (Belmond Orient Express train).
Inspired by the West Coast of the U.S., the futuristic exterior design reflects wave-like forms merging together, culminating with Mercedes Benz’s heritage trademark along the grille. The silhouette meanwhile, is distinguished by the semi-flat front cabin and the sharp Tesla Cybertruck-like rear end.
Equipped with level 5 autonomy and swappable battery packs, users can partake in endless types of journeys, whether it’s a few hours or a few days – there’s even an integrated micro-mobility scooter available for milk runs.
Dripping with luxe comfort and featuring dual zones for seating and dining, the lookout bar provides the perfect ambience for mobile cocktails. Looking for more me time? The interior can be turned private with the push of a button, reducing the natural light coming in, while the adjustable rising seats allow you to just chill and enjoy the panoramic view outside – whether parked or in motion.
Going with current autonomous trends, Kani’s visionary concept will more than meet the needs of travellers well into the late 2040s, whether they’re a seasoned traveller, seeking a new adventure – or want to take van life to the next level. ■
