MV Agusta’s latest limited edition Brutale 1000 RR Assen pays homage to the brand’s racing history and the iconic Assen track, featuring exclusive design elements, upgraded performance and premium accessories…

Creating special editions are a great way to keep interest going on high-end model bikes – and hike up the price at the same time. Luckily for MV Agusta, they have always made the headlines, crafting limited editions that expertly pay homage to a brand’s history, origin, and now, a track.

Using the hottest model in its line up, MV have launched the Agusta Brutale 1000 RR Assen, inspired by the Dutch track Assen (or the Cathedral of Speed), where MV Agusta saw 35 chequered flags. As with previous special takes, the graphics take top billing, here showing off a combination of light metallic blue and silver – dropping the Italian red. Other Assen edition unique finishes include emblems, aluminum side plates, and blue Alcantara upholstery.

Both the software and hardware of the electronic gearbox have evolved also, resulting in smoother, more precise quick changes; while the DOHC inline four has come a long way from the less reliable 750cc to the current more ferocious 998 cc that is one of the strongest in its class – now delivering that 152 kW at peak 11,000 rpm torque. Stopping is assured with a set of double 320 mm floating discs in the front, while a single 220 mm steel disc takes care of the back. As with many MV Agustas, a racing kit is offered, headed by a sport exhaust by Arrow with nasty high-flow titanium tail pipes. A dedicated ECU comes with the exhaust system to fully exploit the superior breathing ability of the Arrow.

The special edition will also come with a Special Parts kit – naturally – for those who need extra power and exclusivity. Unique adds here a carbon fibre passenger seat cover, aluminum fuel cap, and even a motorcycle cover to ensure no one breathes on your elite edition.
