Indian Motorcycles and Roland Sands have unleashed a limited-edition FTR X RSD Super Hooligan, a high-performance, street-legal beast that embodies the rebellious spirit of a true hooligan…
Last we checked, the term ‘hooligan’ meant a rebellious, fearless af attitude, and that’s what this new FTR X RSD Super Hooligan is all about – created by Indian Motorcycles and self proclaimed hooligan himself, racer and designer Roland Sands. Beginning with the blueprint, Indian wanted their customers to get the best crotch rocket available, so the starter model is none other than the premium FTR R Carbon.
With the base taken care of, visual transformation was next, kicking off with black metallic paint over a classic Indian red frame, while the wheels wear the same shade with gold accents.
Then came some self loving, in the form of authentic race graphics and Indian Racing’s championship logo on the front and side number plates – with additional graphics for the front forks and fender.
Not only does the yellow of the Ohlins suspension stand out, it is part of a larger Carbon model package, including Brembo brakes and Metzeler Sportec tyres that always impress.
This isn’t just a commuter bike decked out though, its 1203 cc V-Twin with twin-cam heads delivers 88 lb-ft of tyre smoking torque. To turn up the soundtrack, an Akrapovic muffler and heat shield add both style and stereo. An impressive Ride Command system for listening to music or taking calls is available, but most owners will be too busy injecting themselves into the next corner at full throttle to care.
Just 300 FTR x RSD Super Hooligan machines will be available globally, 150 outside the U.S., each individually numbered – so they won’t be as common a sight as a rental scooter.
Both g.o.a.t.s in their own way, America’s oldest motorcycle company and Mr Sands have surely nailed their objective – because this machine is enough to turn anyone hooligan.
