Cannonball

From NRL cheerleader to Las Vegas showgirl, meet go-getting model, dancer and self-proclaimed nerd lover, LISA CANNON…

You’ve been dancing since you were five. Tell us more about your career so far, Lisa.
Yes, I started dancing at the age of five and have done intense dance exams in ballet, tap and jazz. I was a cheerleader for the NRL Parramatta Eels and in 2009 I took a chance and went to Las Vegas with no job, contract or friends. Pole Fitness Studio was my first job in Vegas, and you can still find me there as a sub teacher. I’ve since performed in amazing casino/hotel shows all over the world! My first show overseas was in an Elvis review show as a showgirl in Japan. From there my career took off to performing all over Australia, Asia, Europe and America. I’ve done shows from The Moulin Rouge in Paris, with its intense French Can-Can, to magic shows as a magician’s assistant, cruise ships, Guns N’ Roses concert dancer and many Vegas shows, like Jubilee.

Amazing. Anything else we should know about you?
In 2018 I was runner-up winner in MAXIM’s Finest and recently I was modelling in Miami for Miami Swim week. Other than modelling I visit Australia when I can – family is gold to me, I love my two little dogs and I enjoy swimming, boating, surfing, wake surfing and snorkelling – yes, I am an Aussie Mermaid!

What do you love most about yourself?
How I see the best in people in any situation. I know my boundaries and love that I have seen the world.

Got any guilty pleasures?
Sleeping in when I can and turning the phone on silent! I also love taking a hot bath weekly and when I travel a hot bath is a must if one is in the hotel room.

What’s the first thing you notice when it comes to the opposite gender?
Their smell, smile, posture, confidence level and how they treat others around them.

What do you think is the most attractive quality in a man?
Intelligence and maturity are number one in my books. I am a huge nerd lover and a sapiosexual. Making me feel safe and protected is very important, along with chivalry qualities and laughing together and at ourselves.

What advice would you give a man?
Actions speak louder than words, most girls do not find cussing attractive and telling the truth goes a long way.

What is something new happening in your life right now?
I’m reinventing myself again with self-love, after a couple years of health issues, and living more in the moment again. Stay connected with me on Instagram to find out what exciting things may arise in my life.
