A “lawyer Barbie”, model and actress who is going after her best life and having fun along the way? Yep, let’s get to know JOLIE PRESCOTT…
Share some background info about your life so far, Jolie.
My childhood dream was to become an actress and throughout high school I was involved with the drama club and did some modelling. After graduating I told my parents I wanted to pursue acting as a career, but my father suggested going to law school. I decided to go to law school and this “lawyer Barbie” spent a summer at the DA’s office, second chaired two felony trials and helped get convictions – it was fascinating and fun! As a Housing Rights Clinic intern, I selected a jury for the first time, but it felt more like I was doing a stand-up comedy routine, which ironically, I did years later for fun. I ended up graduating with a law degree, an MBA in Finance and passed three bar exams.
Were you done with pursuing acting?
No, I started taking acting classes to reignite my childhood dream, and I started modelling again. In the last two years I’ve been published in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Madrid, Amsterdam, Toronto, Mumbai and the Ukraine. And recently, I was cast as a “sexy bad bitch” assistant district attorney in a TV series pilot, Vice Squad: New Orleans.
When do you feel sexy?
When I’m my most authentic self – embracing and owning who I am and not caring what others think. I also feel sexy when I’m embodying my feminine energy, through sensuality and playfulness – especially when dancing at home.
What is your best asset?
My tag line on my dating profiles has been, “If you judge this book by its cover, you will miss the best parts.” My best asset is my capacity and ability to love big and be compassionate. But I’m quite nerdy, so if you value deep intellectual convos and playful debates, you might think it’s my mind. It’s who I am on the inside that is more valuable.
What’s one thing men should always know about women?
Know and meet your woman’s specific love languages. Spend your time, resources and effort strategically so you can have the biggest impact. I always appreciate when a man shows me his love for me through my love languages – mine are physical touch and gifts, with a close third being words of affirmation.
What do you look for in a man?
Many different things. I’m not sure if I can answer this fully here, but if I had a reality dating show it would be called “Survival of the Fittest”. I would have an obstacle course with alligators – LOL – and it would be a competition of intelligence, heart, character, physical prowess and business and financial acumen. I find attraction, connection and intimacy on all levels – physical/sexual, heart, intelligence and spiritually necessities.
Anything else?
Among other things I look for a man to be loyal, respectful, generous, trustworthy, intelligent, confident, assertive, ambitious, passionate about their careers and loving. I love to have fun, be playful and physical touch is my number one love language – so, you’d have to love being with someone who is a physical and affectionate person.
What can we get you at the bar?
A cheesy pick-up line that makes me laugh and shows me you have massive confidence and a sense of humour.
What is your life motto?
“I get to live my dream life!” In the past, I didn’t always think I could live my life exactly the way I wanted or had the courage to do so. I really needed to just give myself full permission to be, do and have what I wanted. It was a game changer and I’m full of gratitude for the life I am living.
What’s next for you? Any exciting projects on the horizon you can share with us?
Yes, I’ve been cast as a series regular in two TV series pilots. In Vice Squad: New Orleans, a crime drama, I’ll be playing the role of ADA Cameron Porter, and in The Falconer’s Game, a political drama, I’ll be playing the role Avery McGee. Also, this year I’ve been cast in lead roles for two movies – Keishara: Guardians of the Gods, a fantasy adventure, and Clock of Death, a psychological thriller – as well as a supporting role in the movie Her Dangerous Games. I’m so grateful to God and to my manager K. Cornell Kellum for these opportunities!
Finally, where would you like to be in five years?
Happily married to the love of my life, continually becoming the best version of myself, living life to its fullest, having fun with the people I love and doing things that make me happy.
