The World’s Fastest RIB

The c’est normal 52R Hybrid is truly one of a kind all carbon speed yacht. Powered by twin 1550hp Mercury Racing engines (totalling 3100 hp) for when you’re chasing records and going for speed. But, it is also powered by electric hybrid engines to give you up to two hours at less than 8 knots in completely silent electric mode…

Swedish professional freeskier Jon Olsson is known for his love of expensive and outrageous vehicles, and has experienced the most aerodynamic forms of travel himself. Together with company Bernico Powerboats, they have designed and created the world’s fastest rigid inflatable boat (RIB) ever – the C’est Normal 52R Hybrid.

While many of us resort to extreme sports, expensive supercars, or marriage, to live dangerously, Jon and Bernico took a chance and manufactured a head-turning full carbon speed yacht – one that took four years to build.

The Hybrid 52R is packing two 1,550 horsepower (1118 kW) 9.0 litre V8 Mercury Racing engines – 3,100 horsepower (2311 kW) on tap. During trials runs it hit 193 km/h, smoking the 188 km/h world record for a RIB. When not setting ballistic records, it can cruise for up to two hours (at less than 14 km/h) in full electric mode.

The 52R’s boasts exceptional maneuverability and delivers a thrilling seeking experience way more intense than that jet boat you tried during your last vacation.
Inspired by hypercar cabins, the rigid- hull inflatable interior is littered with forged carbon fibre, which includes a custom carbon sink, toilet, and coffee maker – not placed together, thankfully.
Tech goodies are limited but quality additions such as a fusion hidden custom audio system, a multispectral marine camera, Lopolight Navigation lights, and a state-of-the-art Quick MC2 X7 Gyrostabilizer.

Thanks to Jon’s thrill seeking influence, there are custom forged carbon steering wheels, racing seats with Ohlins racing shocks, and a carbon-lined hydraulically- lifting sun pad. This speedboat is a radical take on the luxury watercraft market. Not only is it engineered to deliver the most exceptional speeds – it does it dripped in alpine camo. Available for $4.6 million, it’s time to upgrade your jet ski.
