Introducing the latest futuristic design offering from Renault…
For the most part, French automaker Renault is known for keeping a low profile. But lately, they’ve been kicking things up a notch with some riskier concepts. A few years ago, they won the Best Concept Car of the Year award with their Trezor concept project at the Festival Automobile International. Now comes their latest futuristic design offering: the Renault EZ-Tournee.
Designed by automotive designer Artyom Trofimenko, the Tournee is a supercar concept unlike anything you’ve seen before. It’s targeted at 30-45 year old males, mainly due to the lack of space as well as being strictly a two-seater like Renault’s own 2018 EZ-Ultimo concept.
Created with Renault’s signature styling, it looks more like a car from an old-fashioned Sci-Fi movie than something you’d see on the road today, with a minimalist exterior with guards that are curbed inwards. Simplistic yet intricate at the same time, inside there is a roomy double cabin with luxurious seats, while passengers get a 360-degree view thanks to the transparent panelling in the car – finally a vehicle zero blind spots.
The wheels are massive, perhaps more massive than they need to be – although it may have something to do with the fact that all four wheels house electric motors. As well as being fully electric, the concept will be entirely capable of driving itself, without any old school hands-on assistance from the driver.
As for how it compares with other futuristic Renaults, its won’t rate style-wise over the Trezor, but it’s more dynamic than the EZ-GO. Looks-wise, it probably belongs in the same class as the EZ-Ultimo – another quirky, and slightly overwhelming ultra-futuristic concept.
As such, it’s unlikely to be seen in a video game, let alone the streets, anytime soon.
