Thank you! I’m so excited and feel extremely grateful right now. I loved everything about this photo shoot – the atmosphere was fun, positive, respectful and being comfortable on set – that always makes for a great shoot!
Well, you look gorgeous. When do you feel you’re at your sexiest?
Thank you so much! I have two very different versions of feeling sexy. One is when I am in front of the camera, and I have to tap into my own confidence, power and femininity in the lens. The second is when I’m playing music all through my house and I can be uninhibited dancing around in sweats with no make-up on. It is sexy to me to feel happy and free like that.
What is your best asset?
Physically, I would probably say my smile is my best asset – it is my favourite way to connect with people. Otherwise, I’d say maybe my ability to see the good in everyone. I like to believe that, for the most part, we are all a work in progress. So, I try to be patient and understanding with everyone as I would hope others would be with me.
Give us a little more background about yourself and your life story so far.
I’ll try to be brief… I was born in Manhattan, New York USA, raised in Tokyo and then moved to Los Angeles to go to college at UCLA. I played sports all throughout high school and have been largely into fitness my entire life. I started modelling when I was about five years old and never looked back. I spend a lot of my time travelling and love every second of it. Also, my family lives all over the world so travelling feels like it is in my blood. At the end of the day, I am grateful for my life.
You’re a model, actress, influencer, brand ambassador… Is there anything you can’t do?
Oh, there are plenty of things I can’t do well. I just didn’t choose to make a career out of them so that I wasn’t embarrassing myself in public every day! I’m always up for learning new skills, though, and willing to fail in the process just to give it a try!
As an actress you’ve also had a role in the TV series The Vampire Diaries. Tell us about this experience.
It’s interesting because I had such an insignificant role in the show, but it was a significant moment for me. I was new to L.A. with no idea where to start to get my foot in the door. So, I did something sort of out of the norm and started cold calling different casting agents who were working on popular TV shows at the time. I just pitched myself and asked for an opportunity to audition. The casting agent for The Vampire Diaries invited me to audition and about three days later I was filming.
You’ve also graduated in psychology.
I absolutely loved studying psychology. In terms of pursuing a career in psychology, it is a possibility for the future. I have considered going back to school for post graduate degrees to become a psychologist but right now I’m putting all my energy and focus into my current career.
You have a huge fan base. How do you keep your audience coming back for more?
I’d like to think it’s because I do my best to interact genuinely with as many people as possible on my page. I try to let them know I am appreciative of them being a part of my life and grateful for their support, because it allows me to do what I love.
Would you ever date one of your social media followers?
Yes!
What do you look for in a man?
A good heart! Someone who is truly a good person at their core, who is compassionate towards me and others, who is trustworthy and who will choose me as their partner every day through any ups and downs.
How can a man win his way to your heart?
Thoughtful little gestures definitely capture my attention! Any meaningful act, no matter how big or small, that shows what matters to me also matters to him.
Describe your ideal date.
Honestly, as much as I enjoy beautiful nights out, and believe in the importance of continuing to date your significant other, no matter how long you have been together my ideal date would be eating a romantic dinner at home and being able to just sit, talk and laugh together.
What have you learned about men over the years?
If a man is who he says he is and does what he says he is going to do, he is a keeper.
Have you ever been to Australia?
I have! I stayed just outside of Melbourne for a little bit and have visited Sydney a few times. I don’t know if I have one specific day or memory in mind, but I was shown around by one of my best Australian friends and was lucky enough to experience Australia as a local would. Also, I did get to see a white kangaroo in the wild and that encounter has stuck with me.
Very cool. What’s next for you?
I have a few things in the works, although I have to keep them under wraps while they are in the development phase. But keep your eyes open for me in the health and fitness industry as I partner with a beauty company for a really good cause. Stay tuned!
