Thank you! I feel amazing, grateful and honoured to be featured in such a prestigious magazine. We did this shoot on Miami Beach, my favourite place. I really enjoyed the views and the sounds of the ocean – it always makes me happy and calm.
Well, you look gorgeous and fit. When do you feel sexy?
Being sexy is a matter of attitude, self-esteem and health, because if you feel good about yourself, it shows on the outside and people notice it.
What is your best asset?
My best asset is definitely my personality and my ability to learn fast. I think I’m a positive person with a great sense of humour and a great smile.
How would you describe yourself in five words?
Powerful, passionate, entrepreneur, funny and positive.
For those who don’t know a lot about you, give us a little more background about yourself and your life story so far.
I’m 100 percent Colombian – born and raised in Medellin. Nothing makes me more proud than my origins and my culture. I love and represent my country with honour and dignity, always. Something particular about the people from Medellin is that they call us Paisas, and we have a particular accent. When people notice where I’m from it makes me happy. I have been in the USA for six years because I’m chasing my dreams – I’ve dreamt of becoming a successful model ever since I was a little girl. I also want to generate enough work so that I can help people, especially my family.
You also run your own make-up and skincare online store, JC Lifestyle Shop. Why did you decide to do this?
I created this idea about make-up and personal care because I love how make-up empowers and improves a woman’s self-esteem.
When you’re not modelling or running your company what can we find you doing?
I love spending time with my family, working out, going to the beach, shopping and visiting my family back home.
What would people be most surprised to know about you?
Usually some people are surprised when they get to know me as a person because sometimes they read me wrong.
What have you learnt about men over the years?
What I have learnt about men is that they are not so difficult after all. Sometimes they just want attention and to be loved.
What’s one thing men should always know about women?
A man should always know how to treat women with love and respect.
How can he win his way to your heart?
The truth is that I’m a little bit complicated to fall in love with. When I do, it just happens naturally and when I love with all my heart.
Describe your ideal man.
I like a mature man who is already experienced in life and knows how to treat a lady. A man who loves me and makes me feel special and protected.
Where’s the best place you’ve travelled to?
My best trip was to Mexico because I love the music, the food, the weather, the beaches and of course the nature.
With the pandemic, we’re assuming you haven’t been able to travel for a while – what have you been doing instead?
During the pandemic I’ve taken advantage of the time to do some outdoor activities, appreciating the simple things in life.
What’s the first thing you will do once all travel restrictions are lifted?
When I’m able to travel again I’ll be going to my country to visit my family!
Have you ever been to Australia?
I have not had the opportunity to go to Australia yet but MAXIM makes me want to go visit! So, now it is definitely on my bucket list.
Besides koalas and kangaroos, what else do you know about Australia?
That Australia has the largest selection of wines, the largest ecosystem in the world and the cleanest air.
What’s one thing you’d change about the world?
If it were in my hands I wold make a law that protects animal species from extinction, and also ban hunting.
What’s next for you?
My plans for the near future is to become a personal trainer and to keep working as model. I’m also planning for my online store to be physical and virtual and to have my own brand. I’m excited about what the future brings. ■
