The Paris Declaration

Content creator, collaborator, designer, fashionista and stunning Indigenous model PARIS MILLER is definitely one to watch…

Congratulations on your first MAXIM feature, Paris. How do you feel?
Thank you so much! I feel incredibly blessed as, to me, MAXIM has always been a strong, confident and sexy magazine, full of queens who embody all these qualities. So, this truly is such an amazing opportunity and I’m just over the moon.

Well, you look gorgeous. When do you feel sexy?
Thanks! I mean, clear skin is a start. I feel confident when I have a tan, a dark eye make-up look or some cute new lingerie on – even if it is under my sweatpants and hoodie.

What is your best asset?
Definitely my smile. I like to think it’s pretty infectious. Also, my hair – it can be beach wavy, afro curls or dead straight. It’s a win-win.

Give us a little more background about yourself.
People may not know that I’m Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander – this is something I’m so proud of. I also never wanted to be a model. I grew up a tomboy, always skating around my hometown, Coffs Harbour, and was randomly scouted by Alex Perry at Sydney Airport. From there, I took the idea of a modelling career a little more seriously. I signed with my first agency at 16 and started working full-time at 18, travelling to multiple parts of Asia, Italy, Germany and the USA.

Nice work. What would people be most surprised to know about you?
I’m very creative and have always had a huge passion for fashion and design. Eventually when all the craziness of COVID is over I want to start building a brand, starting with unisex wear. From there, the sky is the limit. So, any Australian manufacturers/fashion PR agencies reading this – hit me up!

When you’re not posing for MAXIM what would we find you doing?
Usually I’m contacting brands, photographers, make-up artists, stylists and any creatives to do more collaborative work with. If you can’t already tell, I’m happiest when I’m creating and expanding my work with different artists from all walks of life. If I’m not doing that, I’m usually at the beach, seeing my friends or curled up on the couch eating guilty foods.

What’s the best thing about being a model and Influencer?
Where do I start!? The opportunity to travel would be the top of my list. I can’t wait until society is back to “normal” again providing me the chance to visit new cities and countries again, and working with different people and being on a range of different sets. I would go crazy doing a nine-to-five job. With modelling you never know what to expect, it’s so much fun and so rewarding, but don’t be fooled – it’s hard work.

What’s the weirdest thing someone has sent you via social media?
Hmmm, someone wanted my socks. I do have pretty feet so I don’t blame them!

Would you ever date one of your social media followers?
Sure. A fan before my man is always a great start.

What’s one thing men should always know about women?
Never underestimate the power of a woman.

What have you learnt about men over the years?
They come and they go – I still haven’t found my Mr. Right.

What do you look for in a man?
Confidence. I don’t care about your background or age. If you’re confident, without being cocky, you’ve won.

How can a man possibly win his way to your heart?
Match my crazy. Make me laugh. A lot. Words of affirmation.

Describe your ideal date.
Drake said it all. Come with me, leave all of your things, yeah/We can stop at Gucci, stop at Louis V, yeah/Come with me, fly you out to Greece/Full speed, survoler Paris.

If you had to take MAXIM on a date, what would it entail?
We’re going straight to the city of loooove! Drinking only the finest wine, eating beautiful French cuisine and kissing under the Eiffel Tower.

Ooh la la! Finish this sentence: Public nudity is…
Funny.

Where would you like to be in five years?
Travelling and working around the world, building my brand and experiencing new things.

What’s next for you?
Right now I’m working more on my clothing designs and looking for PR agencies and investors. In the near future I hope to be selling some art/mixed media and getting into jewellery design. I have a lot of work to do! ■
