Thanks for your time, Meliah. You have a beautiful name – what does it mean?
My name is Hawaiian and it means “gentle breeze”.
Nice one. Speaking of gentle breeze, tell us a bit about this cool MAXIM beach photo shoot?
This shoot took place in Huntington and Newport Beach in California late last year. It’s a sexy beach vibe with the beautiful California coast as the backdrop. It was a very fun, upbeat shoot.
You look gorgeous. When do you feel sexy?
I feel sexiest when I have a nice
sun-kissed tan. A tan always makes your body look more distinguished, especially in swimwear.
What would you say is your best asset?
I feel like I get the most compliments on my blue eyes. I also feel like I have a fun personality as well as loving humour and laughing.
Give us a little more background about yourself and your life story so far.
I grew up in Minnesota, where it is very cold in winter, I have one brother and three sisters and I had my first child at 18. I started nursing school at 19, graduated at 22 and ended up moving to Miami, Florida two years later to pursue modelling. After three years I decided to move out to Los Angeles to pursue acting but ended up pregnant with my second child, so went back to Miami to be with family. I furthered my education in nursing and I’ve since returned to the Los Angeles where I currently reside.
What do you enjoying doing when you’re not acting, modelling or on social media?
I love to go hiking, working out, going to the beach, spending time with my kids and, of course, shopping.
For you, what’s been the toughest thing about this crazy COVID-19 time?
It’s been difficult being a nurse during this time – you’re overworked, sometimes double the patient load, and there’s always the fear of bringing the virus home to my family.
What’s the first thing you will do once all travel restrictions are lifted?
I plan on going to Bali on a nice relaxing vacation.
Where’s the best place you’ve ever travelled?
The best place, so far, would have to be to Costa Rica. It’s absolutely beautiful and has a lot to offer – beach, mountains and jungles.
Have you ever been to Australia?
I have not been Down Under but it is definitely on my bucket list.
Besides koalas and kangaroos, what else do you know about Australia?
I know it has the world’s largest coral reef, as well as very deadly snakes and spiders.
What’s one thing you’d change about the world?
I wish we all spoke the same language, which would simplify a lot!
Finish this sentence: If I ruled the world for a day, I would…
Make sure every child was fed, clothed, with a roof over their head and a loving home.
What have you learnt about men over the years?
Men are definitely hard to live with at times but we can’t live without them. They are simpler to figure out than women and no matter how beautiful of a woman they have on their arm, they can’t help but notice the next woman walking by!
What’s one thing men should always know about women?
We need a lot of attention, as well as reassurance — with everything.
How can a man potentially win his way to your heart?
Honesty, loyalty and spending quality time with me.
If you had to take MAXIM on a date, what would it entail?
I would have to say a fine dining restaurant on the beach, listening to the wave’s crash while enjoying the sunset and ending the evening with a relaxing walk on the beach.
What’s next for you?
I have a few shoots coming up but my goal is to do either film or television in the very near future. Stay tuned! ■
