The Weeknd

The Weeknd’s Sydney shows were a breathtaking spectacle of music, pyrotechnics, and unforgettable performances.

Concert Review: The Weeknd, Accor Stadium, Sydney. October 23, 2024.

The Weeknd is known as a powerhouse in the music industry – and for good reason – with multiple hits such as ‘Blinding Lights,’ ‘Can’t Feel My Face,’ ‘Starboy’ and more. His set list for Sydney’s shows also featured some of his older hits, like ‘Wicked Games’ and ‘The Hills,’ intermingled with his more recent tunes.

The ‘After Hours ‘Til Dawn’ tour was absolutely incredible with an amazing set list, incredible stage and out-of-this-world pyrotechnics. The concert opened with Chxrry22, Anna Lunoe, and Mike Dean, but it wasn’t until 8:50 PM that The Weeknd finally came on stage. Sydney was even lucky enough to get some surprise songs.

The Weeknd sang an unreleased song, never heard live before, called ‘Open Hearts.’ Fans have raved about the energy and emotion The Weeknd brought to the performance, making it truly a standout of the Australian part of the tour so far. The vocals and smooth transitions of songs really showed his artistry at its best, while the big production and visuals, developed the show’s futuristic vibe.

Overall, the second night in Sydney Olympic Park was a crazy night, with all crowd members left in awe at both the audio and visual display. If you weren’t there, this certainly would have ranked as one of the absolute must-see tours of the year.
