Time to get more acquainted with this down-to-earth Australian model, hairdresser, former flight attendant and seasoned traveller filled with a side of cheeky…
Welcome, Kelly. Give us a little more background about yourself.
I grew up in New Zealand and my first job was hairdressing, becoming qualified at 19. I then decided to move to Sydney, on a whim, and ended up living there for 13 happy years. Whilst in Sydney I started modelling and featured in numerous magazines as well as TV, but I left to become a flight attendant for Gulf Air in Bahrain. I love the travelling life but after a few years in the Middle East I left to live in Cyprus, where I modelled and worked at events. I started entering fitness competitions as a hobby and competed in the UK where I also lived for a while. I returned to Australia in 2015 and his is home for me now.
That’s a lot of moving! How would you describe yourself in five words?
Fun, positive, spontaneous, caring, sociable.
What do you love most about yourself?
I love my cheeky, fun personality. I’m also very down to earth which I think often surprises people when they first meet me.
What is one of your weird quirks?
I constantly pace around the house when I’m on the phone and I don’t really like video calls.
What is the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
Check my phone to see what day it is – LOL!
What’s the first thing you notice when it comes to the opposite gender?
I firstly notice the way a man carries himself, his style and smile.
What do you think is the most attractive quality in a man?
Definitely confidence. I like a man to be comfortable in his own skin and who is someone that is driven.
What impresses you on a first date?
A nice bottle of wine or champagne is a good start, and I like a guy who can hold a good conversation and is quick witted.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to a man?
If you wear cologne, no-one should smell it from five feet away or five minutes after you leave the room.
Describe your ideal guy in one sentence.
I really love a fun, fit guy with a good sense of humour.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Pick ’n’ mix! I’ve always loved making up a big bag of mixed lollies and usually eat way too many!
What words do you live by?
Stay fun-loving and appreciate life.
Lastly, what is one major thing you want to accomplish by the end of this year?
The end of the year seems a bit short sighted. A longer-term objective is to have some more overseas holidays and to be featured in MAXIM again in the future would be great!
