The Bombardier Challenger 3500 aircraft pushes the industry forward, setting the course to what private jet travel should be…
With demand for private business travel growing due to COVID and increasing incomes, the junior jumbo competition is heating up. As a result, Bombardier has upgraded their best selling jet Challenger 350, fitting it with state-of-the-art technology, upping its luxury game and extending its name to Challenger 3500.
A major part of that luxury is Bombardier’s new patented Nuage seat (French for cloud). This special seating includes a zero-gravity seating position that improves blood circulation and alleviates back pressure for unprecendented comfort – a first in the super mid-size segment.
The interior has been given the minimalist yet luxurious overhaul; thanks to a minor pandemic called Covid, all cabin buttons have been replaced with one-touch haptic-glass controls, similar to those on your smartphone, but much easier to clean.
Reducing the environmental stress, the cabin is finished with sustainable materials while a new ‘Eco app’ ensures fuel use and flight routes are emission-efficient – even test flights run on sustainable aviation fuel. To further flex its tech, the entire cabin is voice-controlled, meaning for the first time, passengers can control the temperature, lighting, and entertainment onboard as effortlessly as requesting a weather check from Alexa. You’ll also never worry about bringing a charger onboard – wireless charging is made available throughout the cabin.
For an even more chilled flight, the cabin has been designed for air pressure of 4,850 ft while cruising at 41,000 ft – to replicate the air pressure of most cities. Launch is achieved courtesy of twin Honeywell HTF7350 engines, for a top speed of 1,025 km/h, and a range of around 5,926 km. Expect the 3500 hit the skies this year at $37.3 million. Bombardier is prepped to bring in more features in order to battle the Gulfstream G280, the Embraer Praetor – and COVID-19.
