Steph Mi

There’s a lot to love about down-to-earth American beauty and interior design lover STEPH MI, and if you’re not already on board her fan base, the #ArMi, you soon will be…

Wicked photo shoot, Steph. What did you love most about it?
I loved the spontaneity. Out of all days of the year, it just so happened to be the gloomiest day and freezing, too, but the team kept the spirits and the laughs high and we made it work. They also made me feel extra sexy and warm.

When do you feel sexy?
I’d love to write something cliché like, “I feel the sexiest with no make-up and in sweats”, but that’s not even remotely true. I feel the sexiest when my make-up is done, I have a golden tan and have the Internet cheering me on after I post a pic.

What is your best asset?
My best ASSet, according to social media, would have to be my butt. However, people who know me, behind the socials, would
say my personality and sense of humour.

Tell us a little more about yourself.
I’m an inner-city kid who grew up in Pittsburgh, PA in the U.S.A. – I may be a city girl but my sisters and I were raised more on the outdoorsy country vibes. I grew up shooting at the range every weekend with my father, grandfather and sisters. Camping by the beach happened every summer or just visiting my grandparents at their camp and fishing. I played soccer and swam competitively and was very passionate about art, attending a creative and performing arts high school, before going off to college to study interior design.

How long have you been modelling?
I’ve been modelling since I was 14. I was discovered at a local fashion show by an agent and signed immediately with my agency shortly after. Seems like a lifetime!

When you’re not posing for MAXIM, modelling or on social media, what else could we find you doing?
My everyday life is consistent and I guess you can say “boring”. Basically, I wake up early, around 7:30-ish, snuggle with my family, workout about five days a week, respond to emails and calls, maybe go to a ball game… yeah, that’s the boring life of “Mi”.

What do you dislike about social media?
I dislike that people feel like they can’t be themselves. Everyone is afraid to show the world authenticity. From casual conversations to unfiltered images, social media creates a delusional “perfectionist” world when in reality we’re these imperfect people with beautiful stories to tell.

What message do you have for the haters and social media trolls?
I don’t have a message for them. I love them as much as my support team. They motivate me, and engage with me, the same if not more than my #ArMi (my supporters).

Would you ever date one of your followers?
I think there may have been a time where someone has followed me online and I “dated” them. So, yes!

What do you look for in a man?
A good listener, attentive, has good taste, has an amazing touch — the leg touch gets me — and smells like they shower all the time. Oh, and I love a mama’s boy. Most women say the opposite, but I love watching how a man treats his mother. Drool!

How can a man win his way to your heart?
Appearance-wise, a backwards hat, some plain clothes and fresh sneakers. No, but for real, just pay attention to me. Find out what I’m eating for dinner, how I like my coffee, if I’m PMS-ing… the secret is revealed guys — all women love this!

Describe your ideal date.
A glorified movie night, a smorgasbord of foods like pizza , Oreos, chips and dip, dim lighting and maybe some cheap wine.

What have you learnt about men over the years?
That the only man you should ever chase after is the ice-cream man.

What’s one thing men should always know about women?
That we’re all a little psycho but we’re very simple and made to look complicated. So, give us the same TLC as you do with your mothers.

Where’s the best place you’ve travelled?
Korea, Thailand, Ireland, Bali, Hawaii… I’m not sure how I could pick just one.

Where would you love to travel to next?
Australia!

Besides koalas and kangaroos, what else do you know about Australia?
The accents are a drool and the spiders are huge.

Finally, what’s one thing you’d change about the world?
It’s not the world that needs changing, it’s the people. ■
